when someone scolds you, do they mean well?
Do you feel hatred when someone scolds you? Do you think that the person may be picking on you? Do you want to "return the favour" by scolding him back? This will be my topic for the day: if someone scolds you, do they mean well?
When your parents nag at you, do you think that they are naggy and they are very troublesome. Well, I do sometimes. I think that they are quite irritating because all the time the things that they say is the same. When they see you playing the computer, they will start their blaberring about getting poor grades if we did not study. They will even ban you from playing the computer. Sometimes if you want to do projects on the internet, and they saw you, they will also scold you. I think that they do not understand us. We are trying to do our work, but our parents malign us by thinking that we are playing the computer, and we got the scolding for nothing. When you flare up at them, they will think that you are being rebellious. I think that they do not understand our predicament. After a long day in school, when you come back and turn on the computer, and they saw it, they will start all their talks about getting bad grades again. We have done our parts as students and after concentrating for half of the day, we still need to study. Are grades the priority? Why do we have to study? What do we yield from studying? I don't know whether how all of you feel, but i feel frustrated if i had to do my work when i have already done it. However, do you think that your parents want it? Do you think that they want you to study for no reasons. It all comes down to one basic reason: they just want to lay the foundations for you, so that when you grow up you can get a good job, buy a big car, earn lots of money. All these may not appeal to you, when I say it now, but when you grow up, these are the most important things, not computer games. Hence, as much as I know how you all feel when your parents scold you, try to bear with it, because when you grow up and become a parent, these will be the things that you require of your daughter or son.
Everybody in school gets scolding by their teachers, and so do I. How does it feel to be scolded by someone who is not even related to you? This will cause you to be even more ashamed and more angry if your teachers scolded you, and not to mention in front of your friends. When I get scolded by my teachers, if it is the last period of the day, so be it. However, if it is the first period of the day, I would not be able to concentrate on what the rest of my teachers said, and yes, you can call that "emo". Do you think that your teachers want to scold you? All they want is for you to do your best and everybody gains from it. Then everytime when you walk past your teachers who have taught you in the past, you can hang up your heads high, because you know that there is nothing for you to be ashamed of, because you have done well. However, if you did badly in your grades that year, when you walk past that particular teacher, you will feel a sense of guilt and you will scold yourself for not doing well. Such things, I doubt you want it to happen to you right? Hence, when a teacher scolds you, do not think that they are picking on you. Rather, think that they want the best out of you, and it will spur yourself to do better the next time in order to avoid another scolding.
I have come to the end of my post today. I think that when someone scolds you, there is a hidden meaning in it, no matter good or bad, and you must reflect on it, so that you can do better the next time.
Term.
Time really flies, and the whole of term 3 is coming to an end. I am going to reflect on what I have done this term. I do not think that I put in effort to maintain my grade. I did not put in the effort to go for my CCA regularly, and I think that my examinations were quite badly done because of my lack of revision for my test. For example, my Geography test. I did not study well for the examination the day before, and when I saw the questions, my mind was blank, and no matter how hard I thought to answer the question, I did not have the key to the questions. As I watched my friends wrote, I reflected on what I have done this term. I thought that what I have done are really insignificant as people were studying for their tests to improve their MSG, but I was at home playing the computer, just like what I am doing now. So much for my talk about improving my MSG last term. Hence, I decided to pick myself up from where I fell. Another reason why I did not know the answers to the questions was because of my lack of concentration in class. I did not bother to what the teachers said and I was day-dreaming, counting bells for the lesson to end so as to go home and play the computer. There was no sense of improvement in me, and I really felt that in the examination. I am not being dramatic. This was what I really thought in the examination. I studied hard to come to this school. I cannot let my effort go into the drain. I must pull up my socks I cannot slack anymore. Another thing to talk about: My CCA. As most of my friends observed this term, I keep putting off my CCA, and I was regularly seen without my shoe bag. I think the reason for this behaviour was because I was dreadful of the tough activities that we have to do for our CCA. When I thought about it, I was tempted to skip CCA, and my temptation got the better of me. I have to go for CCA on a regular basis. I cannot skip my CCA anymore. I need more practise, and I have to go for CCA. I have to run faster. I have to prove my worth. This term is as good as wasted for me. I should starting picking me up from where I fell now. I must score well for my final year examinations. I hope that this reflection will not appear on this blog anymore. I should stop playing. I will try to pay extra attention in class. I will try to put in more effort to study for my tests. I will try to go to CCA on a regular basis. I will make this reflection the first and the last.
CIP
Hey guys, haven't been posting for days. Today i was specially requested by someone to post, and I shall keep the person's identity secret. Haha. I shall stop beating about the bush and go straight into the point. I am going to talk about my CIP on Friday. We went to school as normal and after taking our temperature, and settling down, we took the bus to Taman Jurong to collect old thingy, such as newspaper and clothing. At first we don't really approve of it, but for the sake of clocking our CIP hours, we went. We were divided into our groups and with our group leader, we went to the our assigned block to collect the old newspaper and clothings. We were shocked to know that we have to cover a staggering 18 blocks. However, it was not as hard as we thought it to be, as it was early and most of the tenants were not at home. Thus, after waiting for ten seconds, we went away, to the other unit to ask for old newspaper and old clothings. Some od them did not have the old things for us, and some will give us a lot. We faced quite a lot of problems while taking the loads because they were very heavy, but we got over it in quite a while. After we finish collecting the old stuffs, we brought them to the place whereby we put all our stuffs over there. Then we waited for the lorry to arrive so as to take the stuffs away. After transferring them into the lorry, all of us were perspiring. However, we were happy because we clocked quite a number of hours of CIP. Ok that's all for my post today. Quite a short one, but i promise that there will be more posts to come in the future. Bye.
Discriminations
Hey everybody, have not been blogging for days. Ok, today I will go straight to the point. As the topic suggests, I will be talking about discriminations and see if they are behaviors that are acceptable or not. What does discrimination means? It means that it is some kind or form of exclusion or rejection treatment taken toward or against a person of a certain group that is taken in consideration based on class or category. All of us discriminate people that we think that they are inferior to us. Me and one of my friend, whenever walking past a friend, will purposely scold vulgarities at him, just because that he is smarter than us by miles, and then we will walk away giggling and laughing at him. However when I think about it, I will think that our behavior are very nasty and quite overboard. We shouldn’t have walked past him, and booing at him just because that he is better than us in terms of intellectual level. The friend does not have much friends, unlike us, because of his intelligence and people will call him “nerd” or “mugger” whenever when they walk past him, and thus, no friends would like to befriend him. Can you imagine a life without any friends? When you have troubles, who can you take comfort from? When you are being discriminated, who can stand up for you? This life is totally intolerable, if I were him. I would rather commit suicide. I would not want a lonely life.
Another example is the Bishan Gay. People when seeing him, will scold vulgarities at him. He likes looking at guys wearing short pants, and he will smile at him, or he will step forward and take the initiative to spark off a conversation with him. I can imagine how people will feel if they see someone smiling at them, and staring at them until they are out of sight, not to mention that these behavior comes from a guy. They will feel that they are being stalked, and they will feel frightened. My friend says that he sees him on his way back home, and whenever he sees that he is smiling at him, he will be frightened. Nothing good comes out from his mouth when we talk about him, and instead he will talk about how frightening he is when he smiles at him. Whenever people sees him on the bus, he will smile at them and even if they changes seat, he will still continue to look at him, and not stop until he goes off from the bus. My friend says that he will even take out his phone to snap a picture of you. People on facebook are talking about his behavior and they are “full of praises” for him. However, has it ever striked you that even if his behavior spooks you, but he will not try anything funny on you? When we labeled him as the “Bishan Gay”, “KFC guy”, and the “156 gay”, how will he feel? People have feelings and emotions, and he might have his motive for behaving like that, and he might have his own problems for doing so. We should not shun him, like most people do, however, we can call for help if he tries anything funny on you. We should not discriminate him like that, and insult him by calling him names and scolding vulgarities at him.
I have come to the end of today’s post. Discrimination is no good, as it can hurt people’s feeling, no matter in terms of smartness and how they behave. People cannot control how smart are they, and people cannot control how they behave. We should not shun them. The conclusion of today’s post: do not discriminate people. Thank you, and may our path cross some other time. ( haha, sounds like some fighting show.)
Lottery, good or not good?
This is the first question of today's homework and I will be talking about whether it is good or bad. Lotteries have been called a tax on the poor. Ultimately at only a dollar or two a ticket, anyone can play the lotteries. However, many people become addicted to buying tickets and they can cause family or marital problems. If you are in debt from playing lottery and as a result of it, it will cause worries to your families and if you borrow money from them, they will quarrel with you and as everyone knows, this will spoil the relationship between you and your family members. If you are married, it will be even worse because you have to face them everyday and a quarrel will inevitably break out between the both of you, and no sooner, a family will be broken because of your foolishness to gamble and get addicted in it. However, this is not the point of my post today. If you could control yourself, and treat it as a form of leisure, and not as a form of earning money, nothing will happen between your marriage, not to mention your family members. Why is it that some governments outlaw lottery, a form of gambling which involves the drawing of lots for a prize, while others endorse it to the extent of organizing a national lottery. The country that outlaws lottery does not want its citizen to experience a thrill and indulge in a fantasy of becoming rich. They will cause themselves to become bankrupt at the end of the day and I can see that they are very poor, and that is part of the reason for them not to allow its citizen to take part in the lottery, because of the word “fear”. They are afraid that they will fall into a heap of dept and cause failure to his name at the end of the day, and when they are seen walking on the streets, people will know that this is the person that has gone bankrupt as a result of gambling and they will look at him with strange expression and fingers will be seen pointing at him. The world will also know that the country has some gambling addicts and this is the point that I would like to raise here, that some countries outlaws lottery, because of the word “fear” and this is the word that is stopping them from allowing its citizen to gamble. And why, why do a lot of countries that organises a national lottery is not afraid of this reason? Why is it that countries from Africa, America, South America, Asia and the Australasia are allowed by their governments to buy the lottery. It is because the government allows them to buy lottery because he believes that they will not indulge in it and cause themselves to be labeled a bankrupt at the end of the day. He believes that the citizen of the countries have the self-control to control themselves from doing such a thing. He believes that the citizens treats it as a leisure and this is why the government allows the lottery even in Singapore. Thus, I ask my mother, “Mummy, what will you do if Daddy gets addicted in gambling and cause himself to become a bankrupt?” She said, “I believes that your father has the self-control to stop himself from getting addicted in gambling.” Thus, I can conclude that the countries that allows its citizen to take part in the lottery because of the word “trust”. It is trust that allows the countries to allow its citizen to take part in the lottery. Besides lottery is also a game about luck, it can make people become a millionaire from a poor person. As long as you don’t get addicted into it, you will not fall into a heap of dept. Reference:

Favourite poet
LA 2nd home
Today I am going to talk about my favourite poet, which is the 2nd language arts homework for me. My favourite poet is John Betjeman. I chose this poet because when I was browsing through the names of famous poets when I saw his name and then I clicked on his name. It was a reflex action. When I was going through his biography, I thought that his life was quite interesting, being bullied by bullies because his name sounded like a german. John Betjeman described himself as a "poet and a hack", a sentiment typical of the wry self-deprecating wit that has earned him an indelible place in the affections of the British public, as quoted from the BBC website. John Betjeman had both lonely times and happy times in his childhood. As he was the only son, and had a lonely childhood, with only his partner as a toy teddy bear, Archibald, and taking comfort from it. His happy times during childhood is going for holidays to Trebetherick in Cornwall, where his father
owned a number of properties. These were the happy times for Betjeman, and are remembered in his most of his works. He composed many poems in his life, and some of it includes "Christmas", "Business Girls" and "The Olympic Girl."
That's all for my post on my favourite poet today. This are the resources from my research:

LA homework. First day of e-learning day.
Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size.
But when I start to tell them,They think I'm telling lies.
I say,It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Qns.1This is the poem that I will be talking about today. Ok, before I start, there are 5 most common usage of figurative languages are: hyperbole, personification, metaphor, simile and symbolism. The definition of hyperbole is, when used in poetry is used to invoke an emotion or an image. "I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me." is used at the end of every paragraph of the poem, to express the exaggerating emotions of Maya Angelou as a phenomenal wonman. This shows that she is an extraordinary woman and this is an exaggerating form of expressing that. The second usage of figurative language: personification. It means giving an element or an object or abstract the human traits or quality. In this poem, there is no personification as the poem expresses the feeling of a human, and not an animal or an object. The third usage of figurative language is metaphor. It means directly comparing seemingly unrelative subject with or without using the word like: a, as or then. I cannot find any metaphor in this poem. The 4th usage of figurative language is simile. The phrase" It's in the arch of my back" shows us that it is relating back to the inner beauty. The last usage of figurative language is symbolism. In this passage, the symbolism is hidden in the egoistic phrase such as the " the bend of my hair" and "the need of my care" to show that the author of the poem wants to be a woman like the person in the poem
. Qns. 2I like this poem because this poem shows the charm and of an ideal woman, pretty and feminine. While I read this poem, I was fantasized by its words and the meaning. This is a very good poem to describe an extraordinary woman, such that man also will like it, not to mention how the girls will behave when they wake up in the morning to hear the poem. They will have the energy to face the challenges in their life and they will overcome it like how an extraordinary woman does. They will not be bothered by any obstacles for they will have the confidence to overcome it.
This is the end of my homework today, and thank you. Comments gladly welcomed.
